Most traders are looking for ways to improve their trading.
Here are a few places to look for help:
• A trading room
• A trading group
• A set of alerts and signals
• Have personal coaching
There are some traders that dedicate their trading time in search of the Perfect Trading System --
the perfect indicator or trading system that will provide setups with a 100% success rate.
Many of them have been trading for years, and have tried and tested a number of successful systems.
The key here is they tested and did not become proficient enough to gain the value form any
of these systems. At the first bump they were off on the never ending search, rather than
figuring out the trading problem.
Many times the trading problems are minor and need only a little effort to figure out.
Traders who find it hard to accept even the smallest loss are usually perfectionists.
These types of traders will oft times look for a different trading system in order to avoid an
unpleasant emotional experiences, a trading loss.
If you never had a losing trade you would want to trade all the time. If you lost only 20% of the
time but let your trades run thinking they would come back you would wipe out your account
on a regular basis.
Pretty soon they focus on the pain of losing and forget the real reason for trading, and that is
to make money. Then their off searching for something that will prevent the pain of losing rather
than learning how to manage their losses
If a trader concentrates on avoiding losses rather than on maximizing their overall gain,
they are unlikely to succeed at trading.
