The news is always informing us of what has already happened. It would be great if we could have information from news like the guy that received tomorrow’s news paper today. If we had this type of news service we would all be wealthy.
What we suggest is to not pay much attention to daily news. If it is major news that will affect the world economy then it is note worthy. But the daily news usually does not do anything for the market. Early in my trading career I was told by a seasoned trader that he did not read the business news papers, magazines, or listen to the CNBC type financial programs on the TV. Instead he would just read what his indicators were telling him. This suggestion saves a lot of time and confusion.
I have recorded the success of some of the trading tips I have heard. The success ratio is pretty low. On a number of occasions I have been told that a currency pair was going one way or the other. I would watch it for a few days and most of the time it would go several hundred pips in the opposite direction. I have often wondered if trading in the opposite direction of the tip would be a good trading strategy. (I'm Just joking, kinda) At other times I am told that because the news said something was happing on the world level, that a particular currency was going in a certain direction. Just like the hot tip, the market went the other direction. In almost all cases, the trend was the best tool to follow.
We suggest that following the trading signals and watching the indicators is the surest trading tip. The market will tell you when the time is right to enter. Wait for the market's action to tell you if the information you've obtained is accurate, then take a position with the developing trend.
